The proposal was discussed during a meeting between Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee Chairman Abdulaziz Akkulov and Iran's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Ali Eskandari, the committee said.
According to the committee, the Iranian side suggested easing visa procedures for Iranian nationals visiting Uzbekistan.
The talks also focused on promoting the tourism potential of both countries, increasing the number of tourist trips, expanding direct air connections and developing cooperation in medical tourism.
The sides also agreed to step up efforts to promote Uzbekistan's tourism offerings in the Iranian market and gradually increase two-way tourist exchanges by building on the rich historical and cultural heritage shared by the two countries.
