The ministry said the country currently operates 21 renewable energy plants with a combined installed capacity of 5,602 megawatts. These include 15 solar power plants with a total capacity of 3,930 MW and six wind farms with a combined capacity of 1,672 MW.
The rapid expansion of renewable energy has led to a sharp increase in electricity generation over recent years. Green electricity output totaled 434 million kWh in 2022, 576.9 million kWh in 2023, 4.9 billion kWh in 2024 and 10.5 billion kWh in 2025.
Including electricity generated so far in 2026, Uzbekistan's cumulative renewable energy output over the past four years has exceeded 23.4 billion kWh.
According to the ministry, this has helped save nearly 6.24 billion cubic meters of natural gas and prevented approximately 13.46 million metric tons of harmful emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
The government aims to save 4.3 billion kWh of electricity and 2.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2026 through energy efficiency measures and the expanded deployment of renewable energy sources.
By 2030, Uzbekistan plans to increase the share of renewable energy in total electricity generation to more than 50%.
