According to data from the National Statistics Committee, the figure was 1.4 million, or 22.6%, higher than in the same period last year.

Visitors from neighboring Central Asian countries accounted for the largest share of arrivals. The Kyrgyz Republic ranked first with 2,177,108 tourists, followed by Kazakhstan with 1,855,562 and Tajikistan with 1,728,978.

Russia was the fourth-largest source of tourists, with 710,824 arrivals. It was followed by Afghanistan with 281,200, China with 269,735 and Turkmenistan with 192,830.

Turkey accounted for 111,908 tourist arrivals, while India and South Korea recorded 32,462 and 26,512 visitors, respectively.

The top 10 source countries therefore accounted for more than 7.4 million of the nearly 7.75 million foreign tourists recorded during the first seven months of the year.
