The weather agency said average monthly temperatures exceeded the climate norm by 1.3°C–2.3°C across most of the country, while some northern and desert areas recorded anomalies of 2.5°C–2.8°C.
July began with unusually cool weather. During the first days of the month, temperatures remained 3°C–5°C below the seasonal average, with daytime highs ranging from +27°C to +32°C.
Conditions changed rapidly during the second five-day period of the month, as temperatures rose steadily across the country. The heatwave reached its peak on July 18–19 in most regions, while northwestern areas experienced extreme heat beginning two days earlier.
During the hottest period, daytime temperatures climbed to +43°C–45°C across much of the country and reached +46°C–50°C in southern and desert areas. Several locations registered new all-time July temperature records, while the administrative centers of the Fergana Valley provinces broke their maximum temperature records twice during the month.
In Tashkent, the heat peaked on July 19, when the temperature reached +44.3°C. That was just 0.3°C below the city's all-time record of +44.6°C, set on July 18, 1997.
Nighttime conditions also remained exceptionally warm during the heatwave. Minimum temperatures did not fall below +25°C–28°C, while some southern and desert areas recorded overnight lows of +30°C–33°C.
At the beginning of the third ten-day period of July, a relatively cool air mass temporarily brought temperatures back to seasonal levels or slightly below them. By the end of the month, however, temperatures had once again risen to around 2°C–3°C above the climate norm.
The number of days with temperatures of +40°C or higher reached 3–8 in central and eastern parts of the country, 9–18 in most other regions, and 19–23 in the Kyzylkum Desert and parts of the south. According to Uzhydromet, these figures were well above the long-term average.
Dry weather typical of July prevailed throughout the month in Khorezm, Bukhara, Navoi, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions.
Short-lived local rainfall was recorded on some days in Karakalpakstan, Tashkent and Syrdarya regions, across the Fergana Valley, and in parts of Samarkand and Jizzakh regions.
Heavy rain fell in the mountainous areas of Tashkent, Namangan and Fergana regions. Wind speeds reached 15–20 meters per second in some locations. Gusts strengthened to 22–25 meters per second in Nukus on July 1 and in parts of the Ustyurt Plateau near Jasliq on July 19. Dust storms were also reported in several districts.
