The meeting took place at the Rukh Ordo Cultural Center in both one-on-one and expanded formats with the participation of official delegations, the Uzbek president's press service said.
During the talks, Mirziyoyev described bilateral relations as being at "a historic peak," pointing to the rapid growth of political dialogue and economic ties in recent years.
Reportedly, bilateral trade has increased nearly tenfold over the past few years, reaching $1.2 billion in 2025. The countries have also established around 450 joint ventures, while a bilateral development fund continues to support cooperative projects.
Transport links have also expanded, with 15 air routes and five bus services now operating between the two countries.
The leaders noted that the visit had been preceded by a series of high-level events, including meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, a bilateral business forum, gatherings of university rectors and experts, as well as Uzbekistan's cultural days in Kyrgyzstan.
The two presidents agreed to maintain close dialogue between their parliaments, governments, ministries, regional authorities, business communities and experts. They also decided to establish an Interstate Council to strengthen bilateral coordination.
Mirziyoyev and Japarov reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation within international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Turkic States, the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, and other multilateral platforms.
To achieve their shared goal of increasing bilateral trade to $2 billion in the near future, the sides agreed to expand mutual exports through import substitution, while opening trade houses and representative offices in the capitals of both countries.
The talks also focused on strengthening industrial cooperation through joint projects in energy, geology, critical minerals, logistics, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles and other sectors. The leaders welcomed a new package of trade contracts and investment agreements signed during the business forum held the previous day.
Energy cooperation was identified as a strategic priority. The presidents stressed the importance of signing an agreement as soon as possible and launching the implementation phase of the Kambarata HPP-1 project.
The two sides also reviewed progress on the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project. They agreed to develop border and trade logistics infrastructure along the railway corridor, digitalize permit procedures and create more favorable conditions for international road freight operators.
Regional cooperation was highlighted as another key driver of bilateral economic ties. In this regard, the countries agreed to hold the first Forum of Regions before the end of the year with the participation of all regions from both countries and to approve a schedule of reciprocal regional visits.
The leaders also pledged to continue expanding exchanges in culture, youth affairs, tourism, education, science and sports.
At the conclusion of the talks, Mirziyoyev invited Japarov to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a mutually convenient time.
