Tashkent city registered the highest number of accidents, with 420 cases, followed by Samarkand region with 311 and Tashkent region with 271.
Other regions recorded the following number of accidents during the reporting period: Fergana region – 218, Namangan region – 196, Andijan region – 160, Kashkadarya region – 135, Surkhandarya region – 120, the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 114, Khorezm region – 85, Navoi region – 83, Jizzakh region – 75, Syrdarya region – 50, and Bukhara region – 48, the lowest figure nationwide.
Among the most serious road accidents this year was a crash on July 21 at the Muruntau mine in Navoi region, where a BelAZ mining truck crushed a pickup vehicle, killing two people.
Another fatal accident occurred on July 16 in Tashkent, when a Chevrolet Onix collided with a traffic police motorcycle, leaving at least one person dead.
According to the Road Safety Service, 2,188 people were killed and 8,901 sustained injuries of varying severity in road traffic accidents across Uzbekistan in 2025. Both figures were slightly lower than those recorded in 2024.
