Operating under the KRANTAS brand, the company manufactures special-purpose vehicles, military equipment and industrial machinery. It is preparing to launch serial production of 6×6 and 8×8 Arslon armored personnel carriers and plans to establish an annual production capacity of up to 10,000 trucks and pickup vehicles.

Company co-founder Akmal Karimov said the enterprise began developing armored vehicles five years ago, with its first product being the Tarlon armored vehicle. Designed for Uzbekistan's Armed Forces, National Guard and Ministry of Internal Affairs, the vehicle provides Level 5 ballistic protection and incorporates components supplied by European manufacturers.

Karimov emphasized that the vehicle was developed entirely by the company's own engineering bureau rather than under a foreign license or from a purchased design.

The company later introduced the more compact Qalqon-1 and Qalqon-2 armored vehicles for urban operations. Both models provide Level 4 ballistic protection.

Arslon armored personnel carriers

According to the company, both the 6×6 and 8×8 versions of the Arslon armored personnel carrier have successfully completed state trials, with preparations underway for mass production.

The vehicles are designed to transport troops, provide fire support and carry out missions in high-risk areas. Both variants are equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. Each vehicle accommodates a crew of three and up to eight troops. They are powered by Cummins engines paired with Allison automatic transmissions.

The Arslon 6×6 weighs 22 tonnes and is powered by a 450-horsepower engine, giving it a top speed of 100 km/h and an operational range of 650 kilometers. According to the published specifications, it offers STANAG Level 4 ballistic protection against 12.7 mm and 14.5 mm ammunition, as well as mine protection against explosions equivalent to up to 8 kilograms of TNT.

The larger Arslon 8×8 weighs 33 tonnes and is equipped with a 600-horsepower engine. It has a top speed of 105 km/h and a range of 600–700 kilometers. The vehicle is said to meet STANAG Level 6 protection standards, enabling it to withstand impacts from 14.5 mm and 30 mm ammunition, as well as explosions equivalent to charges of up to 10 kilograms of TNT.

Both models can climb slopes of up to 30 degrees and overcome vertical obstacles up to one meter high.

Truck production plans

Nurafshon Special Equipment also plans to manufacture 10 truck models with payload capacities ranging from 2 to 32 tonnes.

The company has purchased production equipment from Turkey, China and several European countries. Installation and commissioning are scheduled for the third and fourth quarters of this year.

According to Karimov, the project will create 550 new jobs and increase tax revenues after production begins. The company also plans to build a new 10-hectare factory in Tashkent's Yangihayot district to expand the production of import-substituting products. The facility is expected to localize the production of goods worth $15–18 million annually.

Tofon self-propelled howitzer

The company also unveiled the Tofon 155 mm self-propelled artillery system mounted on a 6×6 wheeled chassis.

According to the published specifications, the system is intended for fire support, counter-battery operations, the destruction of military equipment and fortifications, and precision strikes.

The vehicle weighs 27 tonnes and has a crew of four to six personnel. It is armed with a 155 mm/52-caliber gun carrying 18 rounds of ammunition. Depending on the type of ammunition used, its firing range is stated at 41–50 kilometers, while its rate of fire is six to seven rounds per minute. The system can reportedly be brought into combat readiness in about 30 seconds.

The howitzer has a top speed of 100 km/h, an operational range of 600 kilometers and a 335-horsepower engine. It is equipped with a GPS/INS navigation and fire-control system.

Modernized T-64 tank

The presentation also featured a modernized T-64 main battle tank, images of which were released by the presidential press service.

According to the published technical specifications, the tank is equipped with a 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore gun with a barrel length of 6,350 mm. It carries 37 rounds of ammunition and has a stated maximum firing range of up to 10 kilometers.

The upgraded vehicle weighs 38.5 tonnes, has a crew of three and an operational range of 500 kilometers.

One of the key upgrades is the replacement of the original five-cylinder 5TDF engine with a 950-horsepower DP222LC diesel engine manufactured by South Korea's Doosan Infracore. The new 12-cylinder V-type engine has a displacement of 21.9 liters and increases the tank's top speed to 50 km/h.

The presentation also outlined the tank's armor configuration, which includes 80 mm protection in some sections and a combined 80+105 mm armor package in others.
