The organization's National Central Bureau in Uzbekistan has noted that the individual had been placed on the international wanted list at the request of Uzbekistan's law enforcement authorities and had remained in hiding from justice for an extended period.
Interpol's National Central Bureau in Cairo worked closely with its counterpart in Uzbekistan, maintaining regular information exchanges, monitoring the international search and coordinating efforts between the competent authorities of both countries. During the operation, investigators established the suspect's cross-border movements and confirmed that the individual was in Egypt.
After reviewing Uzbekistan's extradition request, the Egyptian authorities approved the transfer of the wanted suspect.
Once all required international legal procedures had been completed, the suspect was handed over to officers from Interpol's National Central Bureau in Uzbekistan and returned to the country to face criminal prosecution in accordance with national legislation.
