A relevant decree on his appointment was signed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Before taking up the diplomatic post, Tugzhanov had served as an adviser to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan since May 2024.
He succeeds Beibut Atamkulov, who had headed Kazakhstan's diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan since October 2022.
