Diseases of the circulatory system are the main cause of death in Uzbekistan – Statistics Committee

The main causes of death in the republic are associated with diseases of the circulatory system, respiratory organs and neoplasms.

In January-September 2022, 130.4 thousand deaths were registered in Uzbekistan, the State Statistics Committee said.

According to the committee, 56.8% of deaths recorded in the republic during the period under review were due to diseases of the circulatory system.

The number of deaths recorded in 9 months of 2022 by diseases:

— circulatory system diseases - 74,109
— diseases of respiratory organs - 12,805
— tumors - 10,535
— accidents, poisoning and injuries - 7,260
— diseases of digestive organs - 5,264
— infectious and parasitic diseases - 1,976
— from other diseases - 18,417
